President’s Notes: This issue of the Zonta Paul will be very brief. Perhaps some of you remember our friend Cheryl Smith, she and her partner, Mary Chapman were members of Zonta for a couple of years. Cheryl died yesterday after struggling for 3 years with cancer. Her services are on Friday and Connie and I are helping with arrangements. Thus the brevity of the newsletter. Important Items: Remember that at this meeting we agreed to have a conversation about our priorities for next year, so it probably is not a good meeting to bring prospects to. We will meet at the Cherokee at our regular time. Please let VIRGINIA know if you are NOT attending (Dorothy is out of town). I have arranged for a facilitator to join us for this meeting so that I can more fully participate in the discussion. Barbara Klemme has worked with us before on some of our planning, so you might recall her. And, Carole has been hard at work with her interviews. She hopes to have a report for us at this meeting. This will be really helpful information as we have our discussions. Actions: Our nominating committee of Marj Neihart, Carole Snyder and Shirley Nice have brought together a slate of officers for FY05. They are: The remaining members of the board are Peggy St. Germain as treasurer and myself, as past president. The nominating committee for 2005-06 will be Lauraine Torgerson, Evelyn MacDonald and Marj Neihart. Thank you to our committee for securing these nominations. Service: I believe that we will also have service projects presented for our consideration at this meeting.
Linder’s Gift Certificates: Lauraine will have Linder’s Garden Center gift certificates at our meeting. I believe she has called most of us to see how many we need/want, but of course, if you want more, she will be glad to get them for you. Area Meeting: The Area Meeting is scheduled for April 23 and 24 in Mankato. See you on Tuesday, April 27 at 5:30. |
