President's Notes: Welcome to our new year. Our 76th year. I think this will be another exciting year for our club with the gathering of Zontians from throughout the District joining us in St. Paul in October. In addition, I think we are starting to spread our wings once again in the areas of service. I hope that we continue to find opportunities to provide hands-on service in our community. Let's be sure to keep our Service Committee informed of opportunities for service. Thank you to each of you who have agreed to staff our booth at the National NOW Conference this weekend. They are expecting 900 women this weekend and there are not a lot of exhibitors, so we should get some good coverge. It is at the Radisson Riverfront Hotel in St. Paul in the Capital Room and Ballroom. We are in booth 13. At our June meeting we will have an opportunity to hear the speaker we are proposing for our keynote speaker at the District Seminar for our Global Event. I hope you will take this opportunity to bring a guest to our meeting. We are also going to spend some time brainstorming about how to identify and recruit new members. We really need to put some emphasis on this in the next few months. In July, the Board and Membership Chair, are planning a prospective member dinner. Watch for more news on the location, the date is July 23rd, our regular meeting date. This is a great opportunity to introduce prospective members to Zonta. I'm sorry this is so late, I've been wildly busy and we've been without a kitchen for over 2 months now. So, our lives are rather chaotic. See you next week at our meeting. Linder's Gift Certificates: We are once again going to raise money for the Convention Fund by selling gift certificates for Linders Garden Centers. We receive 15% of all gift certificates sold. Please contact Lois Nyman to order your certificates. Everyone buys plants in the Spring, please encourage them to buy them with our gift certificates. Linders Garden Centers are located throughout the Twin Cities. Thanks! Dues are Due! Your dues for 2003 were due in May. If you have not yet paid your dues, please submit those payments to Peggy as soon as you are able. We hope that each of you will renew your membership. I know it becomes more difficult each year to make that commitment, but I urge you to remember what we are trying to accomplish in support of women throughout the world. Please renew your membership. |
