PRESIDENTS MESSAGE. . . . .President's Message: Greetings from the southwest! I will be returning to St. Paul March 26 and looking forward to attending the Area Meeting in mid-April. The Minneapolis Zontians have planned an interesting day for us. We received a letter of appreciation and a check for $61 from the Ten Thousand Villages manager. Carole and I joined their staff for a "shopping night for Zonta" in early December. We received 20% of the sales for that evening and it will be added to our convention fund. Thank you Carole for joining me, it was a fun night. Marge has been busy working on the Jane Klausman program and Lolli on the Young Woman in Public Affairs program. We will be looking forward to hearing about/from them at our April meeting. Thank you and your committees for working on these two programs. Our slate of officers for the 2005 - 2006 year are to be presented at our March meeting. Please consider how you would like to participate during the upcoming year. Please let me know if you have a contact with the Park Square Theatre. Think spring and sunny days! Romelle |

American Association of University Women, St. Paul, Minnesota Fund Raiser American Association of University Women, St. Paul, Minnesota AAUW is sponsoring a concert on April 9th as a fund raiser to help keep them in the College Club. The event features a one-woman play written, produced and acted by Stephanie Wendt, concert pianist and radio host, entitled Clara's Visitor. It is a play based on the life of Clara Schumann and features music of Clara and Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. The play brings Clara out from the shadow of her husband and reveals the intriguing relationship between Clara and her nighttime visitor. The performance will be at Sundin Hall, Hamline University, Saturday, April 9th, 1 p.m. and tickets are $35.00. Please let Marj know if you would like tickets. AAUW has been a faithful supporter of Zonta St. Paul for many years at both the Global Event and our Poinsettia Sales Event. I was listening to MPR one morning and they were talking to Stephanie Wendt about the play and I found it to be intriguing. Let's help support our friends at AAUW! We can try to coordinate transportation for those interested in going. See you all on March 22nd. |
