President's Notes:

Thank you to Peggy for hosting our August meeting at her home. It was great fun to be outside of our traditional meeting place and the food was incredible!

This month at our meeting, we will be reviewing the District Seminar and Global Event.

Please bring your silent auction items with you to our meeting.

Please bring your ticket sales with you to our meeting.

Our goal is to have our tickets sold by the time we meet on September 24th, although reservations can be taken until October 7. After the 24th, please e-mail or phone your reservations to Connie and then follow up by mailing the checks. Her phone number is 651-639-9566 and her e-mail is ushernyman@msn.com.

If you need more brochures, I do have some extras still. Otherwise, I will e-mail the forms to you and you can e-mail them to friends, too.

Attached to this newsletter are the assignments for the Seminar and the Global Event. Please review them closely. As in previous years, we have made assignments which hopefully consider your strengths and any physical limitations. If you are unable to fulfill any of these assignments please let me know and we will make changes.

Unfortunately, because we are a small group and there are so many tasks to be done, each of us will have multiple tasks during the weekend. I hope that they are not too cumbersome. It also means that even though we each have guests at the Global Event, we will also have tasks to do. Again, I hope these are not too cumbersome. With the new auction software, I think that the entire silent auction process will take a lot less time – except for Peggy and Lou. So, if your name is not on the list for an assignment during the silent auction process but you are able to help, please let us know that too.

If you know of others/friends who might be willing to help that would be great, too!

I hope that each of you is planning to attend the District Seminar. We have begun receiving registrations already. Because you have an assignment, does not mean that I’m assuming that you will be attending the entire weekend, but hopefully you will consider participating for the weekend and hopefully, you will still be able to fulfill your assignment even if you aren’t planning to be there for the whole weekend.
